Please help with install on GoDaddy

Hi,

I have read the prior posts on GoDaddy installs and I have a problem. I am hosted by GoDaddy under the Deluxe Windows hosting package. The first problem that I had was the "unable to locate oscommerce.sql" which I fixed by editing the location in install_3.php to hosting/USERNAME/catalog/install/oscommerce.sql . The install works until I get to install_7.php which gives me the error "Table 'mytable.configuration' doesn't exist" If I click update instead of install and input the appropriate information it make tables and values in the database which leads me to belive that I need to change something in the php install files to refect the first problem that I had with the absolute path. Since update connects to the database and saves information to it I am wondering if the configuration is first saved to a file on the server then connects to the database to create a table with the configuration data? I made a test table named cofiguration and when I get to install_7.php it states success most likely because I already made the table. If no one knows what I need to change in another php file what values do I need to make my own configuration table. I have read how to manually change the configuration.php files all I think I need is to make a configuration table and input the missing vaules. I know Godaddy sucks but it is what I have, I already bought an SSL Cert and a merchant account from them and my page was written with frontpage or I would have gone with the linux server which offers CGI. Any help without telling me to move my hosting will be appreciated.

Thanks,

John Znalezniak

I also am hosted with and have a certificate through godaddy but linux deluxe hosting.

They run php as a cgi which does not allow .htaccess to function (just cancel your way through) as well as notifying your browser that it is https environment which wreaks havoc with ssl. ( images in http mode instead of https )

I am leaving them. They will refund any prepaid money.

Hope this helps!
