admin dhtml menu errors in firefox mozilla

I installed the lastest version of the admin_dhtml_menu_v2.1. My browser runs extremely slow when I add products or edit products in the admin control panel. I get a popup stating

"a script on this page is causing your browser to run slowly. Your browser may stop running. Do you want to abort the script"

When I abort the script (2 times I have to abort it). The broswer updates my products quickly but only after I abort the script. When I look at the javascipt console I see the errors below listed:

Error: [Exception... "'Permission denied to get property XULElement.selectedIndex' when calling method: [nsIAutoCompletePopup::selectedIndex]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "JS frame :: http://domainname.com/catalog/admin/includes/menu.js :: buttonClick :: line 112" data: no]

Error: buttonMouseover is not defined

What do I need to do to get rid of this problem and still use the script?
