Tax based on countries...

Hello.

I created different TAX ZONES in my website, everyone with a different tax percentage. This is working correctly.

Ok here the question:

- How can I calculate tax based on user country?

For example, if user is from spain > 16% tax

If user is from Italy, > 20% tax

...

The problem is that when I create a new product, the script force me to apply a tax. But, if I leave blank the combobox "Tax rate", the cart doesn't display any tax.

Any suggestion?

Yep, its long winded, but here goes.

Right, set up each country as a zone. Then apply that zone to a tax class, with the desired tax rate. When users arent logged in, tax will not be shown at all, so you need to inform people somehow what tax rates will apply. The apply the tax class to ALL your products where it applies. When a user registers, the tax rate will then be calculated according to the zone rate you set and the tax class applied. Only use one tax class to avoid getting problems with this method. It takes an age to set up, but once its done you should be set for life!
