Removing shipping modules

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to setup a shopping cart that allows people to purchase services over it. All of the shipping modules are not installed, but during checkout it states Flat Rate <blank> and Best Rate $5.00.

How can I set this up so that no shipping is charged?

ok seems only if the products are virtual (ie they have a d/l file associated) the shipping is skipped. So you could try modify slightly the checkout_shipping.php and see if it helps:

catalog\checkout_shipping.php locate this code

// if the order contains only virtual products, forward the customer to the billing page as
// a shipping address is not needed
 if ($order->content_type == 'virtual') {
if (!tep_session_is_registered('shipping')) tep_session_register('shipping');
$shipping = false;
$sendto = false;
tep_redirect(tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_PAYMENT, '', 'SSL'));
 }

Change it to this:

// if the order contains only virtual products, forward the customer to the billing page as
// a shipping address is not needed
if (!tep_session_is_registered('shipping')) tep_session_register('shipping');
$shipping = false;
$sendto = false;
tep_redirect(tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_PAYMENT, '', 'SSL'));

backup before you change anything of course. See if you get any further with an order.

Ok, that did it! It worked!

but

It looks like I have the same problem with payment option. I have only IMS Credit Card and Paypal installed, but the generic Credit Card and Cash on Delivery are added as options during checkout.

At the payment modules page it shows asking me to install them. I tried installing them, then uninstalling them but they still show up in the checkout.
