SSL Issue with Network Solutions

Recommended Posts

I have setup osCommerce on a NetSol Hosting package. The package is SSL enabled. But it lists the htdocs root folder as the enabled folder. I have my catalog in a subfolder of this one. The admin says SSL is not enabled. The cart works until checkout, where it fails trying to follow a https:// link. Any ideas?

Should I move parts of oscommerce into the root folder?

anyone familiar with netsol? maybe there is a way to change the ssl folder? All I see is a button to turn SSL on/off.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks In Advance,

Mo

Read through this thread (and the thread it links to).

http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=190353

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://*******.com');

define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://*********.com');

define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://*********.com');

define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'true');

I have the config right, but it still shows a padlock with a red x slash through it, and all links then forward to an http:// page instead of https :( .

Any ideas?

Did you read through that thread? The solution(s) are in there for both shared and dedicated ssl with Network Solutions.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)

I'm using HostingPanama.com . not NetSol.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Unfortunately I am still having the same issue. I've looked over all (i think) the links and posts. They seem to be experiencing a slightly different issue. I get a 404 file not found error when I click checkout and get forwarded to https://

Like I said, shared ssl is enabled on the root htdocs folder, and oscommerce is in htdocs\emoshin\catalog

Should that make a difference?

I've included my configure.php to help you help me :-)

Thanks in advance,

Mo

UBER NUBER

It was really simple guys. Using shared SSL with netsol u need to use a different url.

https://secure.netsolhost.com/<your.doma...ilename.php>

once i loaded that in the config, i resolved the issue.

Now to get this paypal thing to take credit cards...

after that im in great shape.

Thanks for the responses guys!

  • 2 years later...

Image problem with shared SSL and Network solutions.

I can get the lock to come on for a site hosted at Network solutions, but constantly get a "secure and not secure" warning and if I say don't display nonsecure, i go to the correct page, but none of the images or stylesheet appears to be applied.

In the "source file for the page.. in the address field it shows the full netsol path, but in the source code for teh page displayed, it shows the "non-ssl base path

Here is the config file:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.bonerrods.com');

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://secure.netsolhost.com/bonerrods.com');

define('ENABLE_SSL', true);

define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.bonerrods.com');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'secure.netsolhost.com/bonerrods.com');

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/shop/');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/shop/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/shop/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/shop/');

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');

define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');

define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/');

define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');

define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');

define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');

define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');

I have tried implementing various posts running myenv.php and inserting various changes to application_top.php and none seem to work. I have used shared ssls on other sites hosted elsewhere without problem. Any hints on a networksolution hosting plan?
