newbie question - what do I need for shipping rates from UPS?

Hi, I would like to be able to calculate how much shipping will cost depending on the weight and size of a box. Most, if not all of the boxes will be the same size (if that helps).

 

I was looking through the shipping modules and I think "UPS XML Rates and Services" is the module that I need, but it says "You must obtain an access key and account from UPS before using this module." And thus my question... Where do I go to get this "access key", and is this really what I want?

Jason, with a credit card or debit card you can go to UPS.COM and get an account set up. From that point, you can use your login information for getting rates.

I signed up and got the access code, and put all the information into UPSXML. I get this error:

 

Rating and Service 1.0001 0 An unknown error occured while attempting to contact the UPS gateway

 

 

How can I troubleshoot this? Any common problems? I've tried a search on the forum but have come up empty.
