Sub-cat display in the menu

Is it possible to make sub-categories appear in the menu on the main page? or alternatively have category "headings" IE:

 

Heading

cat 1

cat 2

cat 3

Heading

cat 1

cat 2

cat 3

I want the menu's to be like that.
