Transferring Shop (domain/host) 1064

I have a shop which I have designed complete with a number of selected contributions added, however, I now want to create a new shop (with the same layout, contributions etc) but with different products. I am all too aware of the importance of backing up your data files and database.

 

I now have a complete backup which I would like to re-install on a new domain name etc from where I will be able to start editing products and making small changes to the new site.

 

Currently I have uploaded the database and all the files, I have also edited includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php to feature the new databse info.

 

I am getting the following error when I try to access the catalog:

 

1046 - No database selected

 

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

 

[TEP STOP]

 

Is there something missing? Maybe there is an easy way to upload a complete backup onto a new domain?

I hope you mean that you created a blank database on the new domain and then imported the contents of the old one into it using phpMyAdmin??

 

This has to be done from a backup of the old database and not by downloading it in its entirity.
