Specifying a payment processor

OK, so the board of my nonprofit organization decided to go with PayPal Website Payments Pro as our payment processor partly because PayPal claimed osCommerce would work with their service, and they make the setup sound so easy... "Select Website Payments Pro as your payment processor in your store's payment preferences," end of story.

Now I find, searching the forums here, that a number of you have had serious trouble setting it up. I'm hoping that that's because the people who haven't had trouble don't have to use the forums! But I can't find any mention in the osCommerce documentation of how to specify a payment processor... seems like that ought to be in there somewhere. So...

A) Am I missing something in the documentation? Point me to the right page, please.

B) Can I talk with someone who's had an easy setup experience to step me through the process? We've done almost no customization of osCommerce thus far, so it should be by-the-book... if there is a book...

Thanks in advance!

Save yourself a lot of work. Use the default osCommerce Pay Pal module and on the Pay Pal website sign up in your Profile for their Auto-Return service. A whole lot easier than trying to get Pay Pal WPP working.

Hello Vger,

There is a new contribution under PayPal Website Payments Pro by NHS2005 on January 24, 2006. Have you had a chance to look at it?

I don't have a clue. I am very new to shopping carts. I also don't know anything about who's contributions are allowed to be put up.

Thanks,

Sandy

Okay, maybe I had the wrong idea. From the OSCommerce documentation, I thought that when a customer checks out, the sale is recorded in the database as pending, then the customer goes to PayPal and pays, then the cart admin verifies payment was made and goes back to the cart and marks the sale as final. However, when our customers go off to pay at PayPal, nothing is recorded in the cart. Do we need the IPN answer back solution? If so, which one do you recommend?

Alright, I've run into where I need to add a "return" page at PayPal. Exactly where at PayPal do I specify this?

Found that too - under profile in PayPal Business Account.
