Email Not Using SMTP

osCommerce email doesn't work since anti-spam was tightened on the servers to prevent 'nobody' emails. I have set the email to smtp in admin, but it according to them it is still 'nobody'. In other words, any account on their servers can get email, but no one outside of it.

Here is the message from support. Anyone know what the problem is and how to easily fix it or plug in a fix easily?

I suggest that you simply look at the formm@iler script (http://scripts.dbmasters.net/index.php?id=39) this script works perfectly with our servers.

Also I looked at your form mail script, and that script is NOT using SMTP authentification to send emails through the mail server.

YOu can not send any emails through the mail server if you are the user nobody, any scripts that send emails must use an actual username (pop email address) to authenticate access to the mail server before it send email out.

The above form mail script should help.

I am informed that trying to plug in formm@iler involves rewriting the entire email script. Is this so?

Thanks!
