Guest Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Hello! this store is restricted to members only, all applications are subject for approval before they can enter the shop, because of this i proly have zero search engine optimization, only main page can be indexed. :( My Live Whoesale Store i will be paying google for adwords soon and see if that makes any difference. also but im not sure if its applicable, i want to try affiliate program. please give me tips/advice on where do i go or what do i do to target wholesale buyers, merchants, retail store owners, etc. Any info would be verymuch appreciated!
Chance Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 No one will sign up for your wholesale program if they can't browse the products you offer. You need to at least open up the category tree and let people see what is offered, even if you can't show a price untill you are logged in. This is what some of the largest wholesalers do- google for Moteng and see how they do it. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you. Prices for Logged-In Users Only That way people can see what you offer without seeing your prices. And the search engines would be able to crawl your site. hth Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Guest Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 dude, you should totally consider allowing people to see the pictures. I don't know why your client want to be so secretive about their product offerings. You should totally consider using that contrib TheGraphicsGuy mentioned.
radders Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Your images are slightly misaligned in Firefox 1.5. As for marketing, dmoz has a wholesale section and there are several other on-line directories, some free, some requiring a subscription.
Guest Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 thank you all for your replies. i will try to convince the store owner to change this restriction. and thank you radders i dound several wholesale directories and talk to some of them too. im using firefox 1.5 too but dont see any mis aligned images, it does seem mis aligned but thats how it supposed to be really hehe.
