Login/Account/View Cart Rollover

I am using STS on my latest project, and am therefore using the $viewcartlogo etc variables in the top right hand corner of the site.

 

Would there be any harm in me removing those and replacing them with direct links, e.g. to shopping_cart.php

 

All im trying to do is make the images for 'viewcart' checkut and 'login' into rollover images
