home page edit

I am trying to get the home page where i want it.

Here are my requests that I have worked on for horus on end trying to figure out and I can't seem to do it.

I am using STS v3

 

where is says "NAV" in that top bar under the logo i want links to

New Products - About Us - Contact Us - My Account - FAQ

 

also, in the main body i want everything in there gone except for what I type. the "whats new here" and the "welcome guest" i want all of that gone as well as the "new for this month" stuff.

 

and my last problem is - in firefox and opera the fonts are all the right size but in IE all the fonts are huge except for the links, which are the right size.

 

It isnt completly done, i am still working on the product page templates but that will come later on, would like the home page done first.

 

If anyone can help me do the nav bar with STS and edit the main content area I would very much appreciate it.

I don't use STS so I'm not sure how to use the template contribution to make the changes, but I can tell you that you can edit the homepage by changing the catalog/includes/header.php for the top NAV bar changes, and catalog/index.php & catalog/includes/languages/english(or other language)/index.php to modify the body of the homepage.

Thank you for this. I got that part taken care of now. Does anyone else know anything about STS enough to be able to help me with the last couple problems?

In IE you can override your default browser fonts settings with - Smallest, Smaller, Standard, Larger, and Largest text size settings. In Firefox it renders the page with Firefox's default font size setting, which is usually smaller than other browsers.

Okay, so I got the "New for this month" and everything else out of the home page. When I did that, it fixed the font sizes in IE for some reason.

 

As for the nav bar, I guess I will just hardcore in a few pages and link to them and not worry about what is available with osc or sts because I can't figure it out.
