ivylane Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I am a new user with OSCommerce,.. and I am having trouble getting started. I signed up with Host Excellence to host my site, and the provide OSCommerce as part of the package. Because of that,.. I did not really have to install OSCommerce. I have created my base website using Frontpage, and I would like to add the OSCommerce shopping cart to my site,.. but I can not figure out how to accomplish that task.

They won't be integrated at all. It is better to forget aobut using FrontPage alltogether and work with just the oscommerce package. Do you think it is easier to just change the OSCommerce sample store that is already set up,.. and change it the way I want my site? Or use something like SiteStudio (which also comes with Host Excellence) to create my site. Does any website design software package integrate with OSCommerce?

The best solution, in the long run, is to edit the look of oscommerce yourself and have it work as your whole site. However, this is very difficult for someone not familiar with it and can take several months to do. There is the Simple Template System that you could install that will allow you to edit the look a little easier but, again, it is not going to be anything like Front Page. Jack_mcs Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 It's in the contribution section. Click on the Community menu above and then on Contributions. Search for Simple Template System. Download it, unzip it and follow the instructions to install. Make a backup before you begin.
