Need help with a big project

Hi all and thank for any help you can suggest.

 

This is what I want to do.

 

I want to change my home machine into a server. And host my own store. Dont know if I can do this.

If this is possable what do I need to do?

 

Its a 2.5 Gz 512Mb 80Gb running windows xp service pack 2

 

I still need to use this machine for my other work I do.

 

I want to use oscommerce so I can connect to paypal.

 

I think I know that I need to turn my machine into php3 or 4 and have Mysql.

 

And I may need to do other thing but have no clue what.

 

Any help or ideas would help.

Well the first challenge would be to procure a connection into your home that would have the bandwidth to accomidate a server. Most ISP's generally frown on such activities.

thanks for the imput I have checked and my current band width is 10000.

Of witch I use on avarage 256.

Yep, that's about right. Most people that try this find they can accomodate about four visitors at a time.
