Hello,

 

I am building a store for T-Shirts. Basically, I have a static blank white tshirt image hard coded in products_info.php

 

I would like to be able to 'overlay' the products name on top of the image. The store is selling t-shirts with sayings printed on them.

 

Any idea? I have experimented with javscript.....but cant seem to get it right? Any help would be appreciated.

you can do it with php easily, use the imagettftext function. Load a font put the text at the top of the image.

 

ex from php.net

This is really close....but the I am having an issue with:

In this scenerio....I dont need to create an image....I need to use the shirt gif that I have hard coded. How can I use the gif I already have???

THANK YOU!!!! That worked perfectly.....

 

One last question. I added the code to poduct_info.php and it seems to output what looks like Binary? What could be causing this? Is it related to header Content-type????

the image extensions should match so if you use .gif make sure the gif functions are used. That example had ones for .png. Finally the image should come as source to an <img> tag and the source path should point to a file that executes the image routine. For instance like a thumnailer contrib does.

well it has to be in an <img> tag as I mentioned and pulled in preferably by a different php file where the overlay routine will be executed. Its output will feed the img tag src attribute along with the parameters.

Still trying to figure this out.....here is what I have....and I am still getting a 'binary like' output. I guess I dont understand what you are trying to explain to me. I am still a php novice.

Right so somewhere in the products info page where you display the products image you need something like this:

 

'<img src="your_overlay_image_php_file_where_the_image_routine_is.php?img=your_image_file_name_and_extension"';

 

And then the parameters like img must be specified to the products_image and be processed by the image routine so it will open the image file and overlay the text. So its output feeds the img tag of the product_info.php page.
