The install probably did not write to your two configure.php files. Either re-run the install or edit the two files manually.

I have the same problem.

My site has been working fine for the past 1 year. But today, I changed my hosting company. Instead of running the installation, I downloaded all the files in the server and then uploaded (FTP) all these files and folders to the new server. I then created the database from my my backup sql file. Finally, I changed the 2 configure.php files ... I changed only the settings for DIR_FS_CATALOG, DB_SERVER, DB_SERVER_USERNAME, DB_SERVER_PASSWORD, DB_DATABASE

Are there anything else to change on these 2 congifure.php?

At the home page, I can see my products but when I click them, I got "page not found". I cannot go to the catalog page or the individual product page.

Please help, thanks.

Hello,

I completed the installation and configuration say it was saved successfully. When I try to access the catalog page and the admin page I am getting message 'Unable to connect to database server'. I could see several of your post stating that the 2 configure.php files must not be saved. I made sure that both files permission were set to 777 and could see that there were no data saved on these two files.

What can cause it not to saved? I tried to manually edit the configure files but may not edit it correctly as:

1: catalog page displayed blank screen

2: admin page display menu but when accessing other link it display 'page could not be found'.

Please advice - thank you!
