HI,

I'm totally new to OScommerce but its looks to be just what I want & need.

I have uploaded the catalog folder to my webspace, run install but have problems after entering database location/name/host on second page.

When I click on continue the database test connection fails & I have the following error message :

"You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '152115733' at line 1"

Host 1and1, running php4, latest version of OScommerce (2.2ms2.051113), database details entered correctly!

PHP / MySQL is all new to me at the moment (steep learning curve ahead!).

Can anyone give me some pointers!

thanks

John

I don' t know where on planet earth '152115733' is being called in from, unless it's supposed to be an ip address, in which case it would be 152.115.733

the 152115733 is the database name (auto assigned by web host)

Hi Vger,

That's unlikely to be the database name. You said you hosted with 1&1, their db names take the format of db123456789 so it's more likely to be db152115733.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)

Your so right Alan!

Add one more to my stupidity score :-"

All sorted now & correctly installed, onwards & upwards.

Thanks all for your help

John
