Hi,

I searched the forums, but didn't find any topics relating to the problem I am having, so here goes:

I have an equal sign, =, appearing in a pattern in the order confirmation e-mail that osCommerce sends out on completion. Here's what one looks like:

Northwest University

Order Number: 8

Detailed Invoice: https://www.northwestu.edu/stor=/account_hi....php?order_id=8

Date Ordered: Wednesday 18 Janua=y, 2006

Roughly, the spacing between equal signs that are not supposed to be there is:

72, 66, 68, 55, 65, 66, 58, 45, and 66.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm using an older version of OsCommerce and tried to install the latest (2.2 ms2), but got an error:

New Installation

osCommerce Configuration

Warning: fopen(w:/northwestu/store1/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in W:\northwestu\store1\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 209

Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in W:\northwestu\store1\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 210

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in W:\northwestu\store1\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 211

Warning: fopen(w:/northwestu/store1/admin/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in W:\northwestu\store1\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 259

Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in W:\northwestu\store1\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 260

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in W:\northwestu\store1\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 261

The configuration was successful!

Someone else in the forum had the same problem, but the answer wasn't helpful as I am running on a Windows server, not Apache.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

<--- *with stupid*

Sometimes inspiration comes at the end of one's rope...I ended up answering my own question just after posting. I'd like to sound brilliant, but I really don't understand why this works. In any case, should someone in the future have the same problem, here's you're answer...

Under "E-mail Options" in the "Configuration" block of osCommerce's /admin area, *if* you are using "smtp" as your E-Mail Transport Method, make sure your E-Mail Linefeeds' Value is "CRLF."

I'm just a madman flipping random switches.

I'd still like to know why I can't install 2.2 ms2 though...if anyone has any ideas, I'd like to hear them.

Peace,

Jamie
