Option values

Hi there, wasn;t sure which category to put this question under. I need to add product attributes to my products, but there are loads of values for each option. Is there a module or add on or something that will let me add an option that automatically adds each value for that option?

E.g. I have an option 'colours' and about fifteen colour values. Is there a way to say that X item needs the option 'colours' (that would automatically let the customer select from teh full range of values) instead of having to add each individual colour value?
