Daedalus Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I've searched the forum but did not find the answer to this. Do I need to purchase a dedicated IP address and SSL certificate before installing OsCommerce or can I make these purchases after I install OsCommerce?
GraphicsGuy Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Yes, you can install osCommerce first and do your setup, tweaking, loading products, etc. before popping for the SSL and dedicated IP. But I sure wouldn't start actual sales without the SSL. Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.
