GraphicsGuy Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 About halfway down page 26 of the documentation will help you with this. Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.

The Doctor Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 But i haven't got to that stage yet, how do i configure the configure.php file. It says the backup directory doesn't exist. N e 1 know how to configure it so that it does exist.
GraphicsGuy Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Sorry, I misunderstood your question. The default location for the backup folder is within the admin folder. So using your ftp program or web hosting control panel, you can create a folder named "backup" in the admin folder and set the permissions on it to 777. Keep in mind, this only backs up the database, not the files. To backup the files you can ftp a copy down to your PC. Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.
