I use apaceh2.0.55(win32),php5.1.1,mysql5.0 and winXP.It's no problem,when I install phpBB.

But now I accord to oscommerce2.2 document and istall it,Only can go to step2,like below:

New Installation

Please customize the new installation with the following options:

Import Catalog Database:

Install the database and add the sample data

Checking this box will import the database structure, required data, and some sample data. (required for first time installations)

Automatic Configuration:

Save configuration values

Checking this box will save all entered data during the installation procedure to the appropriate configuration files on the server.

I clicked continue button,it doesn't work.I think it is appache's problem.but I can't find it.Who can tell me.

As I understand your post, it isn't displaying any error messages, just not apparently doing anything when you click continue.

> How long did you give it? If the server is heavily loaded down, the database imports could take a little time. If that is the case, that isn't where you will want it hosted for real sales.

> Do you have access to the apache error and access logs? In the absence of any error announcement on the screen, the logs might be your best hope at finding the problem.

> Are you installing a fresh copy of osCommerce downloaded from this site, or one that you downloaded elsewhere or from a control panel? Only the latest version (osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update 051113) is compatible with PHP 5 and mySQL5.

Thank you help me.

I download oscommerce-2.2ms2-051113.zip.But when I install,

it say:"Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory."

I download register_globals_v1.3a.zip.Unzip and Upload the supplied files to their respective directories.it can go to step 2 only.

how to do?

Looking at the logs, this stands out as the issue:

PHP Warning: mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in D:\\catalog\\includes\\functions\\database.php on line 19

The bottom line is it can't connect to the database. I am not that familiar with Windows installations but here are the things I would suggest looking at:

> Verify that you did successfully create a database using whatever mySQL adminstration you have installed. This must be done before starting the osCommerce setup wizard.

> Make sure that the database name, username and password are correct. They are case sensitive so be sure that matches. Along that line, notice the part of the error stating "using password: NO".

> Regarding the register globals issue. Just as a long shot, you might try turning on register globals (either in php.ini or using a .htaccess file in the catalog folder) and see if that makes any difference.

If that doesn't do it, hopefully somebody with more Windows/osCommerce setup experience can jump in.

Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database.

Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.

Thanks.I have solved that question.

I modify php.ini.like below:

register_globals = On

register_long_arrays = On

register_argc_argv = On

it can work.

Don't use register_globals_v1.3a.zip to cover any file in oscommerce-2.2ms2-051113.zip.or you can't installation.

This probably is helpful to somebody.

Thanks again.

I'm running XP SP2; IIS; PHP5; MySQL5 and 2.2ms2 (latest version).

My problem was not getting to Stage 2. When I clicked on 'Continue' the screen just looked like it refreshes.

By turning on the 3 variables (and restarting IIS) this cured the problem and moved me onto entering database details.

Do you finish installation?If it's OK,you can use it.I think that's all.
