Error when registering as a customer

Your First Name must contain a minimum of 2 characters.

 

keep getting the above error even though i am typing the first name in which is way more than 2 charactors.

 

tried refreshing the admin panel and input a value of 1 and then back to 2 and still nothing.

 

tried to register without nothing in shopping cart and then with and still the same.

 

please help - i dont know if i have twiddled something in create_account.php as i was on there before but i did not remove, delete or amend anything as i was looking to add categories which i could not find.
