OSC SSL and Apache Server setting

I just recently purchased an shared SSL from my host company who have apache servers.

At first I thought I thought it would be best to upload the whole catalog into the SSL folder but after experiancing a whole lot of problems, one of the support technicians told me that there was a setting on the server which links the directories. For example - you would have all your files in the public directory and and the files that you want in an ssl you just point to them and they in turn point back to the files in the public directory. So in all essence your ssl folder remains empty. - hope I'm making sense here

Now I thought that this would sort out my probs :( but am still having many -

1. I went through the whole registration process closed the browser and logged in "returning customer' and it takes me to a file not found page.

the address in the browser of the File not Found page is as follows

https://www.mydomain/catalog/login.php?action=process

Does any one have any idea what could be the matter??

I also cant use the link the the admin section to get back to the catalog - there also file not found and I have a few other errors which I wont go into right now.

Is there a default in the (or a) config file that still thinks your website is www.mydomain.com?

I'd do a text search through all the php files for 'mydomain', inspect the file(s) it appears in, and change it to whatever your website is actually called!
