tina_boots Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Hi guys, sorry for the dumb new guy question but how do I log off from the osCommerce admin panel? There is no log off button. Thanks, hysan When you use .htaccess for your security, your login will remain "saved" until you close that browser instance. I am not aware of any type of setting there might be in .htaccess where you might be able to set a time out or something along that line, if its important you might do some research on the subject. So the answer to your question is you log out by closing the browser. Be well, Tina If you're not having fun you're not doing it right Teach a person to fish rather than give them a loaf of bread or however that saying goes.
Guest Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Hi Tina, Thanks for the help but I tried that already and clearing my browser info and shutting down my computer. I just restart the entire thing and go online and I'm back in the admin panel without having to login again. I can't figure this out. Thanks, Hysan

Thanks, Hysan So what you are saying is that you are never prompted for a password after having set security through .htaccess? If that is the case it appears something is corrupted. I would suggest going into your control panels on your web host, deleting the account you created and creating a new one. If you continue to have problems after having done that, contact your web host and they should assist you. Guest Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Well, for 2 weeks I had that same problem and I didn't do what Tina suggested. Although I'm having trouble remembering what I did to fix it (it was just over a month ago), I think it was just a matter of setting the permissions right. I have yet to touch the .htaccess file and everything is purring around smoothly If your site hosting admin is cPanel, you can protect the admin directory also.
