I am very new to this and have A LOT to learn. I have installed the osCommerce with Fantastico from my site cpanel. As I look through the online knowledge base to figure out how to do something, the layout of the program looks much different than what I have. Version installed: (2.2 MS2 (051113). I assume this contains the recent update.

Allthough it is not a big deal, all navigation in the admin area is down the left hand side not across the top like it is in the knowledge base.

Main concerns:

The products link in the Catalog area is combine with the categories. When I get to the products it only shows the status (red & green dots) and action column (i icon). I do not see the price or qty. I have a blank box for the weight. Adding a new product is a very basic page no tabs for options. Product attributes is a totally different page.

Link to page of reference in knowledge base: http://www.oscommerce.info/kb/osCommerce/A...ool/Catalog/147

There are other thisng that do not look right but this is a start.

Have I done something wrong or is there something I have to enable? Could it be a setting in my computer possibly?

Thanks in advance,

Dolly

I have never seen an osC admin screen like showed in that KB page. My guess is that the writer is using a "will it ever get here" MS3 baselevel.

That's the problem with wiki-style documentation - it's too easy to be inconsistent.

Your layout is the standard method in 2.2-MS2.

Thank you. I was getting worried and will be keeping an eye out for the MS3 update. MS3 will save a lot of time when it gets here!

I did find a post about the 2.2 MS2 And 2.2 MS3 Incompatibilities. I remember reading that the knowledge base was up to date with the current version. Must be up to date with the MS3 release when ever that finally happens!

For anyone who wants to read the 2.2 MS2 And 2.2 MS3 Incompatibilities: http://www.oscommerce.info/kb/osCommerce/D...plementations/7

Thanks again,

Dolly
