Specials Import

I'm trying to figure out how to directly import specials into the database.

 

When I look at the specials and products tables in the db, I see product_ID in both places, but the same product which is on special has a different ID# in those tables. What field is the key between the two? There must be a field which associates the old products/product_ID with it's name, image, description, etc. with the new specials/product_ID with the new price.

 

I don't want to use the categories special contribution. We're putting about 1000 items on special and they aren't all the same rate.
