newtech Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Miva offers availability groups and price group features. Does OSCommerce have such features? Availability Groups You can assign certain products or categories to be part of an availability group. Then assign customers to this group. Only customers of this group can view the products, search for them, or order them. Price Groups You can assign certain products to a price group. Then assign customers to this group. The price group will be assigned a discount rate.

newtech Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 I think I have found two contribs that will work for what I need. But because I have not even isntalled oscommerce I need to know if I am thinking correctly. I need to know if these two contribs will work together. The two contribs are Seperate Pricing per Customer and Hide Products from Customers Groups. I have some products that I want only registered customers in a specific customer group can see. Out of all the customers, I want only some of them to be able to receive a discount on certain products. In other words Customer A is able to see all products in a group and is able to purchase any product (no matter what group) at a discount. Customer B is able to see all products in a group but is not able to get a discount. Customer C is a visitor (not registered), so they are not able to see certain products in a group and not able to receive a discount. A product group needs to be a group not category. ie. books is a category, supplements is a category, books and supplements may be a group.

I am not too interested in spending all the time to convert a Miva store to a oscommerce store if this is the kind fo support there is. Can anybody give me an answer if I am understanding how the two contribs work?

Can anybody give me an answer if I am understanding how the two contribs work? It is a good idea to ask questions about a specific contribution in the support thread for that particular contribution. And yes, you got it right when you explained how you thought the contributions were working together.
