MrPolice Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Let me start by saying that if I am posting in the wrong section, I apologize and hope that a moderator then can transfer this post to a more suitable location. I would also like to apologize for any grammar errors or spelling errors that may occur in this posting. Since English isn't my native language I don't speak it fluently. Now, let me get started. I was browsing some online shops that sell seeds in Sweden and came to one that was using OsCommerce but they've changed the copyright to their own. It now says "Powered by euroIT solutions". Well, I guess the shop itself isn't to blame because I followed the link and ended up at a webhotel that offers a webshop for the price of 5000 SEK [$650 US] in installation fee and monthly fee of 595 SEK [$80 US]. The webshop they are offering is without a doubt OsCommerce, but they've changed the copyright into something else. My question is if it's possible to buy a resellers license to OsCommerce which also grants you the right to remove the original copyright notice and if not, what in God's green earth can be done about this? I will provide a few links, unfourtanely they are in Swedish but I think that you will get the idea. Seed company with screenshot of OsCommerce Seed company webstore (OsCommerce) Webhotel website with direct link to their section on E-trade solutions (OsCommerce) If this isn't legally acceptable, and I doubt that it is, I hope that there is something that the we can do about it. Regards, Andreas who feels like a police ;)
