msgeek17 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I need help with getting my images to look right. I saw the other post about setting calculate size to true and only setting the width or height and leaving the other one blank. And that solved most of my problems, most of my pictures look fine, however I have a problem in that alot of my images are normal ratios except for one type of product I sell and that's pens, the picture needs to be tall and skinny. If I set the width or height to the perfect setting for the pen pictures, then it screws up the other images and vice versa. You can go to www.earlymorningcreations.com/catalog (it's still in the early construction phase) and see what I mean... You see the regular images are fine and the pen one looks smooshed and distorted. The perfect image size for the pens would be 129X400 . Right now my settings are: Small Image Width 129 Small Image Height 0 Heading Image Width 57 Heading Image Height 40 Subcategory Image Width 100 Subcategory Image Height 57 Calculate Image Size true Image Required true Small Image Width Can someone help me with this? I'm new to making websites and so far I've been doing ok in modifying, but this is a huge hurdle I need to overcome to move forward. And I may be overlooking something very simple...at this point I think I have confused myself trying to get these right lol Thanks! Dawn
djo Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 You might look at the contributions section for thumbnail, or auto thumbnailer or something like that. I have one on my store (don't remember which one). They are all pretty easy to install, and will give you a small version, proportionate to the original. I hope this helps. Good Luck
ozcsys Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I had a site that had the same problem ( only it was swords)and it was just a few images so instead of spending a lot of time on setting up a seperate thumbnail system for those few images we just changed their orientation. Instead of them going up and down we rotated the images to have them go from side to side. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
