AirGator Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Is anyone else having a problem with the USPS rates not being calculated correctly through the basic USPS module since USPS increased the rates on 1/9/06? I am going to call them tomorrow, but wanted to know if anyone else noticed the difference when they actually go to ship the package? The USPS module still seems to be getting the old rates. Sounds like USPS needs to update their Web Tools. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. AirGator www.foreverfamilycreations.com Quote
AirGator Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 I finally got a response back from USPS. They said all APIs have been updated to calculate postage with the new rates. I don't know how that can be 'cause all we do is send XML to their API and they do all the calculations. As of today, 1/19/06, it is still calculating from the old rates. We have added a little bumper in the handling fee to compensate for now. Anyone have any ideas that maybe I am missing? Thanks! AirGator Quote
tinystrings Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 The new USPS rates started working immediately for me, but the problem I've been having is that any International addresses result in an error. I haven't yet found a solution... Quote
AirGator Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 That is really weird. Have either of you made any changes to your /catalog/includes/modules/shipping/usps.php? I commented out all of the shipping methods except for Priority Mail since we did not want to offer the all. I wonder if that had anything to do with it. Have either of you installed any contributions dealing with shipping? The boss really wants this to work right. :) Thanks! Quote
AirGator Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) *** Figured it out *** It seems as if PayPal has started tacking on a fee to use their shipping calculator. When a user paid us by PayPal, we would simply click the "Ship" button on the PayPal admin screen and it would automatically calculate shipping and generate the USPS label. Well, a box that should cost $4.80 would take $5.15 out of out PayPal account! Those bastards... hehe Guess we will just use USPS Ship N Click from now on. Thanks to everyone for their replies!
