Hi all,

I finally got my site up, though i need to add all my products yet.

I am also trying to get the "product tab" contribution to work - Been having some problems with that.

I am using the STS3 contribution for my site. And have spend sleepless nights trying to get the way i want. I am never satisfied with what i do - always the need to tweak stuff....

Therefore I would appreciate any feedback, comments and suggestions from all of you.

Website: Advanced GPS Technologies

PS. Don't be too nice....I'm tired of constantly tweaking, cuz I dont like the way it looks to me. Please be a few more extra set of eyes for me and tell me how u thinks it look.

Thanks

Nice. I like your color choice, except for the dark grey text underneath your category boxes. That was almost unreadable. Needs a favicon, too. Putting your registered address but saying not to send mail to it because you don't collect the mail seems like an invitation to confusion. Label your email addresses as email on your about us page, rather than as company information. Incidentally, I recommend writing out email addresses in full, to make it easier for people who just use webmail to email you.

Overall, though, I do like it.

Always BACK UP your files and your database before making any changes. Before asking questions, check out the Knowledge Base. Check out the contributions to see if your problem's solved there. Search the forums.

Shopping cart is two words, but is one word in your header.

The site feels too constrained. Everything is black, forced into a very small template. I think that too much has been taken out to force it into that small area. And, stuff moves around - like the resources and news moves from the bottom to the middle and then back again. As a result, things aren't in consistent places. Even though it is small, it is confusing.

I didn't know anything about GPS' and don't know anything more after looking at your site. I did take the link to Garmin's site, had to hunt around for a GPS 18, and then found their description. It was a relief to get to their light and airy site.

The Conditions of Use links to Shipping and Returns. But, if someone didn't accidently go to Conditions of Use, Shipping and Returns would be hidden from them.

Site Map is broken, a couple of the other links on the left go to an empty About Us. The Register graphic for new acccount creation isn't in the same position as the button. Your footer disappears if you stumble on Advanced Search.

It seems like you take credit cards - when do I find out which ones you take - after I create an account, go to check out and find that you don't take AmEx? No info about SSL that I found, either.

Well, you wanted criticism.

In the left dropdown menu under the word "categories" on the main page, I'd change "catalog" to "Please select" like it is on the other dropdown menu. I'd also move Conditions of Use to somewhere else - it seems out of place under "resources and news."

Nice look, If surfed this site it would take me a few minutes instead of a few seconds to realize that it is not oscommerce.

This is a complement.

Backup before making changes. Backup before making changes! Backup before making changes!!

You did do a backup? eh?

Your site shop looks real nice. Always nice to see something other than the standard OSC template structure.

I really like the way the product_info look. It fits the products good.

I do, however prefer to se a small product image in the product listing.

For me, that helps keeping the interest up when faced with a long list of products.

And you might want to change the caps at the bottom. No biggie.

Good work.

Keep it up. :)

On your product listing pages the "next" link is in a completley different style to the rest of your site.

Blue with a yellow background on mouse over.

Might wanna change that.

Otherwise really nice mate.
