webs_mvp Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 I am getting ready to create a site that sells photography. I want the photographers to submit their work to me and then get 10% of the sales from their photos. Can OSCommerce do this? If not, does anyone know of something I can use to track these sales and pay the photographers?

Kevin "What I didn't know yesterday, I know today & will remember tomorrow" (By Kwalker) What do you see when you open up the tep_database-pr2.2-CVS.pdf file that came with your osCommerce download?

GraphicsGuy Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Basically, you would set the photos up as download products. Use the auto thumbnail/watermark contribution to display the screen examples. Set up each photographer as a "Manufacturer". (edit the appropriate language files to display "Photographer" instead of "Manufacturer". Install the Manufactuer Sales Report contribution and run it each month. Finding photograhers willing to supply the photos and only get 10% of the proceeds, that will be the hard part. Very difficult indeed. Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.

GraphicsGuy Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 cant seem to find auto thumbnail/watermark contribution in the contribution area, do you have a link? Searching the contributions for the keywords thumbnail watermark brings up two that do both and one for just watermarking. I haven't used them so I can't say which is best. I would recommend looking them over and look up their contribution support threads to choose which one to use. hth Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database.
