Wizard Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Hello, I'm in the final stages of my site and wanted to know what everyone thinks of the the different payment modules. I am looking for a payment module that will process all major credit cards automatically and I want to make the process seamless for the client, without having them leave my site. Any suggestions? I heard that Authorize.net is one of the leading online CC processing handelers, but I didn't find anywhere if the payment module will take my customer out of my site during the checkout process. Also, I saw that there are a few different modules for Authorize.net, but which one should I choose? (I have oscommerce 2.2SMS1) Any help, comments , suggestions appreciated... thanks. Who would have thought that so much can be created from 0`s and 1`s...

I can't coment on Authorize.net but.. As far as I know most payment modules take you out of the site, we currently use Paypal mostly, and it works well.. But it does leave our site, and we do get issues where people get confused when they get to paypal due to evening the simple question about do you have an account / Please enter your password. As your in the US though Paypal now offer a integrated API for background processing... Havnt' tried it through, but seemed like a good idea.. ( PayPal Website Payments Pro (USA only) ) Long term the best solution is to have a payment frontend and a Merchant Account through, or an integrated solution along these lines. As it's very likley to be cheaper than payment providers like Authorsize & Paypal, I know ours is.. The more trade you do with your own Merchant Account the better your rates will be.

Authorize.net is a good solution and it's AIM protocol won't make your customers leave your site. I suggest you do reasearch on the different fees and such involved and make a decision based on YOUR needs. Wizard Posted January 11, 2006 Author Posted January 11, 2006 Thanks for the comments here, I am glad to know that there is a way to make the CC transaction without leaving the site, makes it look very professional. I saw that the Authorize.net module I have doesn't request any CVV number from the back of the card, which I think is another important feature. I tried looking at the different modules for the Authorize.net and there are a couple of them, but I don't really know if they work or not, or if they have any bugs in them... and I wouldn't want to take a chance having my credit cards being processed wrong. Is anyone working with any of these CVV modules for the Authorize.net and can suggest on which one I should choose? In some of them it says that it won't work with MS1 and newer carts... so what do people with newer ver. do? By the way, if my cart shows that the project version is osCommerce 2.2-CVS, does that mean I have MS1? Thanks. Who would have thought that so much can be created from 0`s and 1`s...
NETCONMIGO Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I installed a OSCOMMERCE with Authorize.net and it works just fine. I intalled the "Authorizenet Consolidated v1.7b" CONTRIBUTION and the rest is history. :) Thanks for the comments here, I am glad to know that there is a way to make the CC transaction without leaving the site, makes it look very professional.
