Sorry for sounding like such a newbie but I have to ask these questions because if I don't I'll never learn.

First off, I hear people talking about "going live" with their shops. Is there something special you have to do to go "live"? As far as I know I think my store is live, but I didn't do anything special to make it live (unless it just looks that way to me because I have full access).

Second, I noticed my site is running really slow the last few hours. It's not my computer or internet connection as all other sites are fine, just mine. I have my store located at www.catscreationsandcrafts.com/catalog/index.php I noticed many people have it pointing to just www.myserver.com/catalog or www.myserver.com/products ... How do you change it, and do you need to change it and why?

Going live is basically when your site is finished and open to the public. I couldn't even get to our site, it just kept loading and loading. If you have CPanel in the left column you can see what the server loads are and that might give you an indication as to why it is sooooo verrrryyyyy slow. For www.catscreationsandcrafts.com/catalog/index.php I would move it to www.catscreationsandcrafts.com/index.php which is done by moving all your files (just back them up first) and then changing your 2 configure.php files to reflect the change.

Before you do any changes on your site you need to do BACKUP! BACKUP!

Ok, thank for letting me know how to change the url. I don't know why it's loading so slow. I'm not sure what I did...it was fine this morning and now it won't even load.

I'm not sure what you mean by "CPanel" in the left column.

If you don't have CPanel then don't worry about it, your other site in the main directory loads fine so I don't know why the osC part does not load. Don't move osC to your main directory until you have finished the store because you will copy over your existing store and wreck it (I didin't realize you already had a site there). Wait till you are ready to "go live" :thumbsup:

What were you doing when the site slowed down?

As for the CCVG question I have no idea off the top of my head except make sure the table is there in your DB (coupon_gv_customer)

That's the other thing...I don't know what you'se mean when you say "go live"...I think my site is live, but I didn't do anything special to make it "go live". I'm totally lost on that whole part.

I was just adding inventory when all this started to bog down.

Go live = being on the internet

Go live = uploading your store from your local server

Go live = store open for business

Go live = different thing to different people

It is just a generic saying that people use when talking about their store, it doesn't mean much of anything.

More important things are;

Did you add images with the products and how big were the image files?

I just managed to get your site. You should optimize your images though 91000 bytes for some is too much, it will take to long for pages to load.
