PROBLEMS SETTING UP?

hi very new to all this wondering if you can help me out

 

keep getting this error message

 

New Installation

 

osCommerce Configuration

 

The following error has occurred:

 

 

The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set.

 

Please perform the following actions:

cd /vhost/vhost3/t/h/e/thescotlandkiltcompany.co.uk/www/catalog/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

cd /vhost/vhost3/t/h/e/thescotlandkiltcompany.co.uk/www/catalog/admin/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

 

i have tried to figer it out myself any help will be amazing

No Problem,

 

If you go to your FTP Client then.

 

1. Goto Includes Folder

2. Right Click on configure.php

3. Tick all the boxes for users and options.

 

Do the same in the ADMIN/INCLUDES folder

 

your problems should be sorted.

i am using dreamwearer to up load the sites, dont get anything like that when i right click?

Use MS Internet Explorer but instead of putting a domain name in the address bar use the FTP details from dreamweaver IE

 

ftp.yourdomain.com

 

it should then ask for login password, from their you can get what you need.

but... (alwyas a but) i now get this message

 

 

Warning: mysql_connect(): Unknown MySQL Server Host 'mysql02.iomart.com ' (1) in /vhost/vhost3/t/h/e/thescotlandkiltcompany.co.uk/www/catalog/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

 

could you provide guidence on this

ok that went away but when i click on the catalogue it come up with this

Hi,

 

Not to sure what you have done their, the website doesnt look to be a OScommerce website, or at least it has been completely remade without all the features in HTML, and if thats the case I really have to ask why.

 

PS. Love the logo (and Edinburgh)

thanks that is our old website im trying to set up a proper online shop for them and now very stuck

 

What changes you made to the website?

we are getitng rid of that old site to set up the oscommerce one, dont want to use the old one, its jsut there for now till the oscommerce one gets working,

Sorry I meant what changes you made to the OScommerce code (contributions etc)

emmm none i dont think, maybe i should redownload the package and start again, might clear things up.

 

only thing i added was a golbals patch

I am having trouble with SQL V5 so it could be the same problem but Im not to sure, I am still trying to find out about this myself - check which version you are using.
