25glenmore Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Hi I have just restored my website to its original sate but my password no longer works for the admin section does anybody know what the default password and username is i have tryied admin , admin but no joy!!!

You will need to determine how you added it and find, or redefine, the password that way. John Pagan Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Isn't the Password protection added by using Cpanel etc to Password Protect folders? I've recently done a fresh install and recall doing that as part of the installation instructions. Assuming you did that the first time around, you should be able to do the same again to get back to where you set the Password in the first place...

John Pagan Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 It occurs to me you may have the Contrib installed that was on the install done for me last year (threw me when I tried a standard MS2 install and it wasn't there) which actually uses a Web page for the Admin log-ins etc, so that the Password Protecting of folders thing doesn't apply. I think it was called Admin Access with Levels 2.1 or something akin, but for it the default admin is 'admin@localhost' with password 'admin' - so give that a try.
