register_globals On, can't access the Admin Area

Hi guys, I'm a noob to this and I did do several searches and validated that the register_globals is on in my php.ini file. The main page now comes up fine with ssl also installed but I can not access the admin area.

 

Thanks in advance for any help, I'm loosing hair fast!

 

Error msg is below:

 

Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory. :angry:

 

I also read this on the initial page:

 

It is important to secure the Administration Tool as there is currently no security implementation available.

 

How do I pull this off?
