Orders Not Visible Since 12/30/05

Not really sure what's going on here because I've made no changes to anything in months but...

When I go to Admin -> Customers -> Orders the last order I see was placed on 12/30. I've had probably close to 50 orders placed since then and I get a copy via email, the order shows if pull it up by order nubmer, I can view packing list and invoice if I pull it up by number. It just doesn't show on the list of orders. Also, if I pull one of these new orders up and change the status to processing then go to pull a list of all processing orders, it doesn't show. I also show no pending orders because I've shipped everything that was ordered before 12/30/05.

It's almost like I reached some type of limit or something. The last order that I can view on the list is #3110.

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of orders that can be viewed? Or could it be related to the change to 2006 (although I didn't have this problem moving from 2004 or 2005)?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gayla

So I tried deleting some of the first orders placed thinking maybe I had just run out of room but that didn't work.

Also found out today that orders placed since 12/30/05 are also not showing up in the customer history.

This is actually starting to cause a huge problem because we are not capable of pulling up all processing orders at the end of the day to see if we missed any. Since we are shipping 35-40 orders a day, having no double check system in place worries me.

Again, any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

I'm having the same problem! Like Gayla, I haven't made any code changes recently, and my last December order came through fine, but January orders are a problem.

I also am not getting notified by e-mail that there was even an order. The only way I know there was, is that I do get Authorize.net e-mails telling me the name of the customer, amount paid, but of course no info on WHAT they actually ordered.

Help, anyone ???

We're using the system internally for our sales people to orders samples, so we don't have a payment system in place. Thankfully I'm still getting emails for each order, or I would have no way of knowing I had one!

I wonder how many other people are having this problem?!

same problem here am i am pulling my hair out, emails are going out confirming the order - but no notice of it under orders

So I don't know if this is related to the change in year or something else. One of our IT guys said maybe the database is full but it looks like we're using less than 10 megs right now. Also, if the database was full it wouldn't allow for new orders to be entered at all. My users can enter an order, they just don't see it in their history.

My other thought was maybe I reached some type of limit in the number of orders the system will hold but I've searched for some type of setting and can't find anything.

my database is a new one with only 5 orders on it, my problem is nothing to do with paypal as i have tested this on 'cash on delivery' and i as the customer get a receipt for the order - but nothing in admin ?

i have plowed through hundreds of threads now to find a solution - so i am a bit stuck......

Do you have your shop set up so that you get a copy of the order emailed to you? Do you get that copy? Oh, and do you have any orders from prior to 12/31/05?

Not sure if this will be helpful but maybe if we can narrow it down to something we can figure out how to fix it.

okay my shop is a new shop, i have done quite a few - so for a customer,

i put in Fast Easy Checkout , still working,

then handover to customer - not working - i also have another problem as the customer zone is being set to 0 automatically - when it should be one - so names and address are not showing up in packling slips. (set automatic country input through - so probably messed that up)

something is telling my shop not to show the orders i think - as they are there -

i have checked the database and the orders are there under the 'orders' table - have you checked your database ?

Posted

Yes, mine are in the database. I can actually pull them up if I go to the order list in admin and type the number in the search field. And my user is getting an email and I'm getting a copy of the email so I know the orders are actually there, they're just not showing on the list of orders or in user's history.

I'm not familar with the Fast Easy Checkout contrib so I'm not sure how that might be affecting things on your end. Did it work before you added that?

I did have someone suggest that it might be the way the date is stored in the database. I'll look at that next and see if it helps.

Posted

okay, that could be something re the date, not sure if the fast easy checkout changed the date - mine is set to UK dd/mm/yy - all contributions are to mm/dd/yy, so i will let you know what i find out

are you disappointed to get a reply to this thread to find it is only me who also is lost ?..................................................

LOL Not dissapointed to be talking to you at all! I'm very glad that someone responded and maybe if we keep trying different things we can fix at least one of our problems!

But very concerned that there are other people having problems who haven't found this thread yet!

lol, well i have just checked my date in database and that is okay,

have you changed any settings in admin ?

i know that when i showed customer the shop - he went into admin and changed alot of things - without my permisson i may add (!) 'knowitall' i think - so i am looking first at admin to see if there are any settings that arent usual,

then i will sort this country code thing out - but i cant see it being that.

Posted

okay i have just solved my problem and am very happy,

it was the admin settings which was changed

in 'order total' it was set not to display the total - and that is one of the fields in the show order in admin and i think if not shown then it would interfere - well it fixed my problem anyway

let me know how you get on with yours.

The only admin setting I've changed was after I noticed this problem and I changed the order history max value to 5000 hoping that might have something to do with it. I didn't.

I also just noticed when I went to my customer list that it does show the last logon dates as 01/09/06. I can't imagine that the date functions would work for that but not work the same with orders. It again makes me wonder if there is some order limit setting somewhere that I'm just missing.

I'm so afraid of our IT guys getting a hold of my site and messing with the settings that I won't tell any of them how to get there! I'm sure they could find it if they looked hard enough but they are so busy they haven't even tried yet. :)

Before this, I haven't changed anything in months. It was probably September and then all I changed was the main page text.

I'm leaving work now but should be home in about an hour. I'll take a look at the SQL then and see if that tells me anything. I'll let you know!

OK, so I dumped the data into an excel file and I can't see any different between the last order that shows up and first order that doesn't display. However, in playing around with this I did discover something else.

When I go to Admin-Customers-Orders, the page view defaults to a list of all orders. When I choose "Pending" from the drop down, it shows me all orders with a status of pending. From that point, if I select "All Orders" from the drop down, the list is blank. To get a list of all orders, I have to click on "Orders" in the left hand column.

Again, not sure if this is connected, but it's something else I noticed didn't work right.

Now I'm going through the code for admin/orders.php to see if anything looks weird. Although I have no idea if I'm able to tell the difference.

I'm also thinking that I might need to start a new thread about this in the development section since it seems like it may be more appropriate for that area.

I have the same problem. Orders prior to Jan 1 2006 were fine. After Jan 1 2006, order are not correctly stored in database table order_totals. Shipping is displayed but not added to order total.

I am running MS2.2

Also, in the shipping confirmation screen, the following are not displayed correctly:

shipping

sub-total

tax

total

In the admin panel, displaying all the fields above are set to TRUE.

I am fairly confident that the reason the order do not display in the admin/orders is that the orders are defective (meaning certain fields in the orders_totals table are blank and are therefore not selected by the query generating the display of the orders).

If we can discover why none of the information for new orders is being stored in orders_totals, then we can solve this issue.

well it was the "orders total" that stopped it displaying for me, (Order Total set to not display)

there are other fields as well in the orders section and i suppose they will have to be checked to ensure integrity.

best wishes to all, feel like i am jumping ship now I am sorted...

I have fixed the problem. In the page: store/admin/modules.php?set=ordertotal, admin can set which order total items will be displayed. In my case,

shipping

sub-total

tax

total

were all set to TRUE. For each one of the above, I set to FALSE, then set back to TRUE. After doing this, order are calculated and displayed correctly. Also, the new orders are stored in orders_totals correctly and show in the admin/orders panel correctly.

When I go to Admin-Modules-Order Total I see nothing listed except a path to the module directory and the install button with the green plus side over on the right hand side. When I click on the Install button, nothing happens.

I don't think I ever install the Order Total stuff because I'm not using pricing on anything.

Any suggestions?
