Sessions and Godaddy.com

LostCause

Recommended Posts

I've recently moved the OSc site to a new hosting company cause' the last hosting company didn't know what they were doing with the ssl certificates. Anyways, since the move I'm having a problem with the sessions.

If this value is set to "mysql", anytime I click on a link the site goes to a blank page.

define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql'); The database is storing the sessions dynamically...but still returns a blank page.

If I remove the "mysql", the site performs normally, however no sessions are being recorded and I get an error of \tmp directory does not exist.

Anyone have suggestions, I'm running out of ideas.

Thanks,

Jesse

Hi... I'm no expert but I've seen something on these forums about the proper directory to use when storing sessions a files and NOT on mysql. It basically has to do with the fact that when you're on a shared server you don't have access to the \tmp directory so you have to create one in your OWN absolute directory and point it there in the Admin panel.

I'm also on GoDaddy and the site root there is something like: /home/content/s/i/t/siteroothere/

I don't know if I've been clear and this doesn't solve the mysql problem, but check out this forum post as well: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=159740

Good luck!
