Mediajuggle
Hi, I was wondering what peoples favorite payment module? I have heard different things, but I want to setup the right one and I was wondering some do's and dont's. What payment module you choose to use depends on who you choose to process your payments. This question is too general, sort of like saying "what car is the best?". It depends on too many factors. KillaH425
Yeah I suppose, but I did the math to compare 2CheckOut versus PayPal. If in a year my company sold 100 t-shirts at $15 a piece, and not including shipping and each t-shirt had their own order, 2CheckOut is a much better deal. *I am using PayPal Website Payments Pro* 2CheckOut: $94.825 USD PayPal: $250.435 USD But of course the paypal name and the features in Pro versus Standard must balance, right? KillaH425
But, of course if you did PayPal Standard its only $30.435. I guess it comes down to the amount of products you are selling and what features you do and don't need.
Mediajuggle
But of course the paypal name and the features in Pro versus Standard must balance, right? I'm not too familiar with 2Checkout.. but I personally think that it's a lot more professional looking to have a customers transaction completed on your site without them being redirected to another to enter their information. With that being said, if PayPal Professional winds up taking too much of your profit, there are other cheaper alternatives. KillaH425
I totally agree with the professional look, but PayPal Standard said that I can customize the look of it by changing the background color and banners and whatnot.
Guest
Nope, not the same thing at all. There's a jump to their site, for one thing. For regular paypal users, this is nothing. To your skeptical customer, maybe the difference between a sale and an abandoned cart. Also, it doesn't look the same as your osC store; just vaguely similar. You got them all the way down the funnel and they're ready to buy from you. Don't shake their confidence now! Use your own SSL Cert and a seamless gateway to make the transaction if you can afford it. yes, it costs more. yes, you'll sell more.

KillaH425
Yeah thats what I thought at first but this is a very, very small business and the owner said that maybe after a few months of good sales we would upgrade. But paying monthly is quite expensive for a company selling just clothing. Eventually I will purchase an SSL certificate for $53 for 2 years and search for a gateway and stuff. But they can't really afford it, and they hafta build a reputation first. But thanks for the advice! I agree

Your example shows a gross of $1,500 a year. Try figuring it again if you did $1,500 a month. 2CO is the highest, last time I checked, of any of the options. Paypal IPN and PayPal Pro are generally the best deals, again, depending upon the volume.
