OSCOMMERCE loaded into wrong folder

Hi everybody. I recently swapped webhosts, as I was getting horrid (translation; NONE) support at Ipowerweb. So I moved to ixwebhosting last week and since have not been able to get my homepage working with ixwebhosting's "support". Today I was able to figure THEIR system out for them by myself and I'm finally able to begin building my website.

Here's the problem.... I've installed OSCOMMERCE and I'm sure the reason OSCOMMERCE is not working from my *.biz site is because the index.html file is in the ROOT folder!! This is exactly where the "support" team told me my root folder was and that's EXACTLY why my previous 150 attempts to get my home page started did not work. Well, it's not ~ the TRUE "root" folder is /loveoldt/mistynewbeak.biz.

I've tried turning the store off, then back on again & I can't seem to find the option to tell the OSCOMMERCE engine to load it in the /loveolt/mistynewbeak.biz folder instead of the /mistynewbeak. biz folder. Are there any tools to do this?.... I need to redirect everything to the /loveolt**** folder.

Thanks for reading,

Loveoldtrux

Just so you don't have any more complications than you already have had,,, simply do a "clean install" of the oscommerce.

Trust me on this one. Trying to move it and especially if it's not already running, you're more than likely to transfer some of your old server folder info over to the new one.

I know you hate it,, but do a clean install, and that way you have already done a process of elimination from the beginning IF something does go wrong.

What do you see when you open up the tep_database-pr2.2-CVS.pdf file that came with your osCommerce download?

Thanks for the replies!!...

Ouch!... Looks like I won't be able to use oscommerce then. I might have been able to figure out the true host folder for the webhosts, but as far as getting this fixed I can't tell how them to do that.... as usual, their tech "support" department is OUT-SOURCED and they barely scribble literate english --- but they are heads above that other "hoster".

If I DO a fresh install - the installation package "thinks" the true root IS mistynewbeak.biz (which it is NOT, as I found that out yesterday after a week of fudging around with things).

Boy, and the oscommerce looked SO hot!!.... I guess I'll have to settle with checks and a link to the PayPal site ... arrrgh.... :(
