Tab Delmited Files

Hi folks!

I am totally new here, so if this has been addressed already, I apologize.

I am trying to Easy Populate products and am frustrated with it limiting me to the following 11 fields:

Column Sequence to import data

Manufacturer_name | manufacturers_image | Categories1_name | Categories2_name | Categories3_name | Model_no | Web_pic | list_price | weight | products_name | products_description

8. Keep the sequence of the columns as it is given below. If any of the column doesnot contain any

data. Leave it blank but donot remove it from the list

If I have "Product Extra Fields" like MSRP, that are in addition to the above default categories, how do I get them loaded? Even the "Tax class" isn't showing up

Lastly, when I create a Tab Delimited file from osCommerce and then 'save as' into Excel, the order of the categories does not follow the order the site requires to Upload them. Is there a reason for this?

I looked at this link but there are maybe 30 diiferent deals there, and I have no idea where to start. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,500

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ryan :thumbsup

Did you know that there is a support thread already started for that contrib? Yep.. sure is. And there is where you'll get the help you need, especially reading some of the other peoples problems.... Yes,,, your exact problem is listed there along with the answers too. Check it out.

also, according to your post, if I'm correct, you didn't choose the "whole-database" to to use. Did you choose a different method. I think there are 3+ choices to choose from when exporting. When I used it for my products, it downloaded I think, approximately 47 fields for me. That's why I believe you didn't select the right option for your export.

By all means do check out their support. I also could be wrong about what you're doing, but I'm pretty sure I'm fairly close to being correct on that one.

What do you see when you open up the tep_database-pr2.2-CVS.pdf file that came with your osCommerce download?

Thanks for your reply.

I have 5 options to download. I believe the one you are referring to is "Download Complete..."

Then there are 4 others, each offering only a fraction of the "Complete" download. Example "Model/Price/Qty." The so called "Complete" download is peaking at 11 categories.

None of the categories added through "Product Expanded Fields" show up in the download.

As stated in my previous post, I have checked out the contributions thread, and now, have read all of them. Are you suggesting I download each one and hope for the best?

There are multiple versions offered for download, and being that I have only had this program working for 2 weeks, I am nervous about throwing a dart at the various available downloads and hoping it works.

The version I have is Easy Populate 2.76-ms2. I don't see any references to it on the site.

A more specific solution / reply would be helpful.

Do the "Complete Download". That should get you all what you need to work with.

I'm surprised there isn't anything about your situation.... oh well.

If you did do the complete download and you have this same problem, 1st look in your docs that came with your contrib and see if they documented their support location. If not, try it again, this time don't do the tab export... (I find that very likely to throw your fields offs).

If you still have problems, I'll look in my EasyPopulate and walk you through it best I can. Worse comes to worst, just export your tables using either phpmyadmin or another method, and edit it in Excel. The same goes with uploading.
