Guest
Yes. There are various means to accomplish this. A quick (but non-comprehensive) of methods summary is below: 1) 2 databases, 2 sets of files, 2 domains 2) 2 databases, 2 sets of files, 1 domain, using subdirectories for the shops 3) 1 database, but using table prefixes (IOW it's functionally much like 2 databases, but only actually takes up 1 MySQL database), 2 set of files, 2 domains (or 1 domain using method #2 above) 4) 1 database, 1 set of files, 1 domain, install the Separate Price per Customer (SPPC) contribution If you choose #4, you may also want to add the Quantity Discount for SPPC contrib. -jared

I'm saving this thread. I'm sure it'll come in handy some day soon. mtechama
One other question I am planning to setup each wholesaler Sub account number like for an example http://wholesalers.yourdamain.com/account# and have there own osCommerce for that wholesaler if I have 10 wholesalers and I want to tie that osCommerce to 1 MySQL and I want to know if that is possible. For An Example: Wholesaler No.1 there account number is 10001 have their own shop with name only Wholesaler No.5 account number is 50005 Have their own shop with name only Wholesaler No.10 Account number is 101010 Have Their own Shop with name only Like Welcome,Their Name http://wholesalers.yourdamain.com/#account each folder within the wholesale subdomain will have customers account number? If I enter the wholesalers account I won't have re-enter the products for each wholesaler. What I am trying to say is when I am entering the 1st Wholesaler shop for that customer everything is setup for that first shop. Now when setup the 2nd Wholesaler shop is it possible that can pull all pruducts pics and all from that database instead of having a 3rd database? so I won't have to re-enter everything in the 2nd wholesalers accounts shop and so on? kwalker
From what I was reading here before, there is a contrib that will allow you to create "affilliate" shops. That may be easier and simpler to do. Just a thought. mtechama
The "affiliate" is what you mean is when I got 15 wholesalers shops and can pull all the database from 1 MySQL? ♥Vger
It's called Multi Stores. One 'admin' panel but you can give other 'stores' their own limited access to the admin control panel. Vger
mtechama
Ok If I am the Admin for all shop. if there updates and all is that mean that I have to go in each shop and do all the updates instead of using 1 shop to do all the updates. ok lets say that I have shop is the main shop(admin) and I enter all the products, prices and all. ok that is the main shop(admin) then I have a 1st Wholesaler came in I set their shop in one folder within a subdomain. doesn't that mean I have to re-enter all the products, prices and updates for each site instead of each shop pulling all the information from the database that I have entered from the main shop(admin) site? mtechama
so the "Multi Shops or Store" if I had the main Shop for the Adminstrators I enter all the Products, Prices and Updates will the main shop(admin) controls all the store(Multi Shops or stores) on one database? Guest
Sometimes it takes more than a day for someone who knows something about a particular contrib to respond. Patience, Grasshopper! (I'd help but I'm not familiar with that contrib). -jared
mtechama
Ok I am going to say this once..... Will osCommerce will do 10 or 20 muli stores with 1 MySQL for an example: Store 1 (Admin) Main Store Enters all Products,Descriptions,Prices and Updates Stores 2 to 20 regular stores Will Store 1 controls all stores 2 to 20 Will all Stores 2 to 20 can pull all the Products,Descriptions,Prices and all Updates from Store 1 So I won't have re-enter the data for each store? Guest
Sounds like you're getting frustrated. I'm sorry for that. I *believe* that Multi Store will do exactly what you're describing. Personally, I'm never satisfied with what a contribution will do until I install it and see for myself (which also highlights the usefulness of having a test server). -jared
mtechama
so are you saying to try it out on a test server and see if it works? Wade Morris Amarillo, Texas Before you do any changes on your site you need to do BACKUP! BACKUP!

magnumpi
On multi-store mod - is central checkout at the main install domain, different, or can you select? The reason I ask is I need to order a secure certificate for checkout. Would like to do all this with a fresh install.

magnumpi
I'm asking anyone who has the answer. What I would like to do is have a wildcard SSL certificate and have all shops do central checkout at one domain. Otherwise I think I need to have an SSL certificate for each individual site.
