Hi guys newbie here...Did several searches and I cant seem to grasp my problem

Here is my problem..

I already have a website I built installed on YRhost using Front page...I would like to redesign the site using Oscommerce and give it slight mods to enhance its look...BUT I cant install Oscommerce (using Cpanel) to my site because I already have one there!!!

I would like to keep my FP site up and running while I build a new one using OScommerce, and since i know next to nothing about computers it will take awhile for me to get it ready

Anyone got any advice for me on how to build this??

Thanks

Why not just create a directory and install it there. You can also run your server offline (I know you said you're not too computery)

Also, I'm not sure I understand you when you say you can't install Oscommerce to your site because you already have one there. what are you referring too?

What do you see when you open up the tep_database-pr2.2-CVS.pdf file that came with your osCommerce download?

Kevin,

I have no clue how to create a directory...But I will research it and see how it is done thanks

This is the error that I get when I try to install it..

You have reached the maximum of allowed MySQL databases. Fantastico can not proceed with installations until you upgrade your account or reduce the number of used databases (for example by uninstalling a script).

Use Fantastico to automatically install any of the scripts listed on the left. Installing any script will use one of your available MySQL databases. Removing any script will free up one of your used MySQL databases.

I understand enough to know that I only have 1 mysql's to play with on the site, and that I am using it to host my Front page website...What I want to do is have a place to work on the site while keeping the Frontpage one online until I am ready to upload it and run it

Thanks

Dave

No need to try the "create directory". You're only allowed one database, and you're using it now with your FP site.

Is the database on your FP site an oscommerce database? If your answer is "no" and you have no other option of testing, and still keep your FP site up, PM me..... I think I can solve that delima.
