tubarao21
Hi there. I was configuring my store and i copied all the files to my PC. The objective is to put an old store on line that we had (While the new one is being prepared, just to present something). There's a small question. The old store was running on a different DataBase. I put the old store in my server, but now presents a message: "Unable to connect to database". I changed the name of the DB and name of user and password in configure.php but still keeps showing the message. What to do? :o
kwalker
Is your old database an oscommerce or a different one? tubarao21
Its a OsCommerce one. And now that you mention it, the database was created with a fresh instalation of OsCommerce 2.2 while the old store is in 2.1. Is there a way to put them work together? kwalker
Can you create more than 1 database on your server? I wouldn't try to merge 2 versions of anything together. ♥Vger
Create a blank database and import the contents of the old 2.1 version database into it. When you go to install osCommerce choose the Upgrade link instead of Install New Store, and it will upgrade the 2.1 database to 2.2 Vger
tubarao21
But i think i can negotiate that. Afterall i think i can build another database. :P

Kevin I haven't explored the upgrade yet. I guess I would be merging. And what do you mean by: "import the contents of the old 2.1 version database into it"? The old database is a goner. It was deleted. Do you mean upload the old files of my store? The old database had the default contents of OsCommerce 2.1. We didn't have any contents. We didn't have it working, it was just there to show something. But, the store were already translated to portuguese. I installed a fresh OsCommerce 2.2 version (english), but still have the old store files translated. And while the new store isn't ready, we want to put the old one back "in the air".

tubarao21
:):) Well. Whatever. I'll go back to OsCommerce 2.2. The only thing is that the store is in English. Untill it's fully set is going to be like that. It wasn't working already. Thanks for the attention.
