Guest
when clicking Tools -> Page Info on firefox, it says all of my product pages were last modified at whatever the present time is. i don't want this to occur, how can i set this to show the date the product was last EDITED (the database saves this date if i remember correctly) if it matters any, i use the header tags controller i believe this can be useful for customers who insist you are out to get them and edited the product description after they paid for a product
ozEworks
If you are talking about a Firefox function then given these are dynamic pages I think it is in fact starting the "truth".
Guest
yes i am talking about the firefox function if the item listing (details, price, etc.) hasn't been modified, then it isn't necessarily the truth ;)

Guest
i don't think it's a firefox bug, because it happens in IE too. firefox just happens to be my browser of choice :)
ozEworks
these are dynamic pages. they are being built at the time of display. a browser cannot work out if you have updated your database or not. it is not reading your site at that level. it is only looking at the page being displayed and it is built as it goes. so I am pretty sure that is what it is telling you. unless it had been cached the time will be "now"

Guest
oh, okay... i was not aware that's how the time was generated. thank you for the explanation :) do you guys also happen to know if google will beat you up for your "last updated" always being -now- ? ozEworks
No. Don't worry about these details. google beats you up over much more trivial things.
