Added features for Contribution Listing pages

I don't know if this suggestion has come up before but it would be extremely helpful to have some sort of sample, screenshots or working examples with the contributions that are listed - the contributions are great but many would benefit from a visual aid of some sort.

 

When you're looking for themes on many sites they provide screenshots which I find helpful... and a great site that utilizes providing a working example is www.dynamicdrive.com where they actually utilize the script somehow on the page to show how the script works --- this is obviously not as easy with Oscommerce but I feel that any visual aid would be a huge benefit and would probably save people time downloading contributions just to see what they look like.

 

Also it would be great to encourage seperate "Read Me" file downloads. This way someone could download the readme file in say txt or pdf to view the details before deciding if they want to download the whole package.

 

Oscommerce is a great community, I've found several helpful people and definitely several helpful contributions but it definitely does take some time to search and download and review the info... the suggestion of having a forum topic for support is a great idea too, maybe incorporating that support link into the profile of the contribution would be a quality addition as well.

 

 

Having said all this, I definitely appreciate all that is available due to Oscommerce and just wanted to provide my thoughts to help improve a portion of what is available... thanks to all who've helped me in the short while I've been utilizing these forums and contributions
