To make a long story short here is my Question. I have an out side host/server. I am using Core FTP lite to make changes to my Stylesheet.css files. My question..... Can I make changes to the php files using the Core FTP lite program...? My store is live and has been.

My biggest issue is that our host isint real happy that I am making the changes and not having or excuse me paying him to do it. So can I use the Core program to make the changes or do I need to talk to my host and have him make the changes HELP!

I would really like to do this on my own....

I don't know what Core FTP is but if you've been using it to change the stylesheet there's no reason you can't use it to change the php files.

Tell your host to get lost or better yet, switch hosts. You don't need to be his gravy train.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)

Thank you for the advice! I am looking into it....

Core FTP is a program I am using to exchange information from my computer to my web site.... So far it has been working fab... I downloaded it for free. I was just worried due to PHP being a database program that I wouldnt be able to use the FTP program to make changes. So thanks!

You'll be able to use the FTP program to upload changed php files (in the correct mode of course), but I don't know if you'll be able to actually change them with the FTP client.

I use PHP designer 2005 to actually alter the php files....It's free, and I've found it bloody useful.
